Postcard Exchange

submitted by Kathy M., co-president
We will build our cards at the June meeting to swap with the Boulder, Colorado Modern Quilt Guild.
If you wish to participate, please bring a completed 4×6 inch mini quilt top.  The following tutorial was created by the Colorado guild for their members:
You only need to complete steps 1 and then cut a lightweight fusible interfacing and fuse to back of the mini quilt top.
Skip to step #4 and quilt it using any type of modern quilting style.
The remainder of the steps will be completed at our June 25th meeting, with the guild providing the card stock and fusible web.
I can’t wait to see all the different Post Cards!

April 2019 Meeting Reminder

Modern Quilters,

I thought we were beyond the snow, but apparently not. No matter, because by our April 23rd meeting, we will be well on our way to nice Spring weather.

Several reminders:

Blocks for the Alabama Storm victims are due. Such a fun easy block, that when put into a quilt will bring comfort to those affected by the horrific storm. It’s not too late
to make a block or two. Instructions are here.

April will be your last chance to purchase raffle tickets to win a portable design wall. Retail price for the Design Wall is $90. Betty Woodruff is handling this for the guild. Tickets are $5. See Betty at the meeting if you are interested. A winner will be drawn at the April Meeting.

We have a meet and great at 5:30 P.M. and the meeting will begin at 6:00P.M.  The meeting will be what was originally planned for the Jan meeting that was cancelled due to pitifully bad weather! In case you have forgotten, please bring your first or earliest quilt and also your latest quilt to show how you have grown over the years in your quilting journey. This should be a fun evening of reminiscing. Don’t forget your raffle blocks. We will also have a brief discussion on quilt Con and those members that will be going are trying to work out how we can share the experience with those unable to attend. We hope to see you there!!

January 2019 Meeting reminder

submitted by Kathy M., co-president

We’ve made it through the holiday’s, only to experience a whopper of a snow storm.
I’m looking forward to our January Quilting Journeys member trunk show.  Bring your first (or one of your early quilts) and your most recent one.  We will share our journey with the goal of inspiring each other to stretch our wings and try new techniques or perhaps just improve our current ones.

Bring your dollars for the fabric raffle.  Remember there was no Block Lotto due for January, but I’m sure Sue will have a great block to introduce that will be due in February.

Our Modern Round Robin will start, so if you signed up, please bring your center to exchange.  Something new and exciting for our guild!
