I thought we were beyond the snow, but apparently not. No matter, because by our April 23rd meeting, we will be well on our way to nice Spring weather.

Several reminders:

Blocks for the Alabama Storm victims are due. Such a fun easy block, that when put into a quilt will bring comfort to those affected by the horrific storm. It’s not too late
to make a block or two. Instructions are here.

April will be your last chance to purchase raffle tickets to win a portable design wall. Retail price for the Design Wall is $90. Betty Woodruff is handling this for the guild. Tickets are $5. See Betty at the meeting if you are interested. A winner will be drawn at the April Meeting.

Mini Quilt Challenge: We will continue to take signups this month. Cost is $1 to join this fun Kona Splash challenge. Challenge Guildlines will be distributed when you signup. We are waiting on additional Kona Splash, so start thinking about design and when we distribute the fabric, you can hit the ground running! Challenge Quilts will be submitted at our July Meeting and hang at Kelly’s Bakery in Downtown Bloomington the month of August.

Round Robin continues. Bring this month’s completed round to the April meeting so the next quilter in your group can continue the “building” process. I cannot wait to see them when they are revealed!

Our April program will Heartbeat Quilt design night. I recently learned BroMenn is in need of more quilts. Our last 5 completed quilts were dropped off on April 9th. It is my hope the meeting will be well attended and we can continue to meet the needs of the BroMenn NICU. We need members willing to piece the tops, we need members willing to quilt the completed tops and we need members to bind the quilts. We all have our area of expertise, so volunteer where you are most comfortable. If you are willing to take a quilt package (top, backing and batting) and bring back a totally finished quilt, we will be exceptionally happy as well.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all at our April 23rd meeting. Social time begins at 5:30, the guild meeting begins at 6:00pm.
