March 2017 Meeting Recap

Modern Quilters:  Love Quilts!  Love Color! Design Quilts! Make Quilts!

The March meeting had all of that! And fun. Don’t forget the fun!

Started off by delicious goodies brought by Sue Kaiser, Cheryl Adam and Kris Zimmerman, President Kathy Cook thanked them, Becky Boline (for hosting our charity sewing day and for vending at the meeting), and Lori LeVar (for teaching the Sew Together Bag workshop).  Kathy also thanked Lisa Baermann for her work on designing a new calendar and directory page on the BNMQG blog. Check it out!  It takes the work of many to keep our guild so fun and vibrant!

February 2017 Meeting Review

The terrible storms that struck Ottawa and other areas of Central Illinois were on our minds during our meeting, especially because member and speaker Vickie Alsene’s home is in Ottawa. Our thoughts continue to be with those affected by the tornadoes.

On a more positive note, there was plenty of Modern Quilting action going on! Ann G announced that 33 members and one guest were at the meeting.  Before the meeting began, the slide show had pictures of all of the charity quilts submitted by MQG member guilds that were on display at QuiltCon 2017. Having only returned the day before, President Kathy Cook was excited to share those quilts.  Our quilt will be returned to us and later we will decide as a guild which charity will get our quilt. Watch for more info about that.
