The November meeting of the Bloomington-Normal Modern Quilt Guild was led by our co-president, Kathy M., and was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Normal.
Treats were provided by Beth F., Jan C. and Lori L. Thank you for the delicious treats! Our new social time arrangement is for members to bring their own drink, minimizing the need for beverages and plastic cups to be provided by monthly snack providers.
We welcomed 42 members, 2 guests and 2 new members for a total of 44 members in attendance.
There is a new password to the guild blog’s members only page. There was an email sent to all guild members with the new password. IF you did not receive an email, please contact one of the executive board members. Under the Members section there is the 2017/18 final expenses and the 2018/19 budget information.
Modern Round Robin
Cathie H. shared the information on how this will work. There was a handout given with the instructions and ideas. If you are interested in participating you will need to bring your center or starter block to the January meeting. You can see the handout here: (Insert handout)

Nancy P. informed the group the guild there is almost two blocks done. We will need a name for the quilt. So be thinking of some possible names!
The Bionic MoJo Bag class was a great success. Several brought their finished bags for Show and Tell.

Our winners for Block Lotto were Vickie A. and Anne U.
No new block lotto this month.
Show and Tell
As always there were several members with beautiful show and tell items. Be sure to check out the pictures!
Our survey question for this month was “How much time do you spend planning your design?”
The winner for the survey door prize was Marge E.
Tonight’s program was a guest speaker, Cheryl Sleboda, who talked about “working weekly.”
No meeting in December. At our January meeting we will be going on Quilting Journeys. We’d like for you to bring your first quilted project and your most recent creation. We will have a trunk show. Members will be able to share with us how long their journey has been, how much their tastes and skills have changed. It should be a fun time! We hope to see you there with your quilts.
On the general website, a downloadable reimbursement form is available for completing and turning in (attach receipts to the back of the form) to Nancy P., our treasurer.
At the request of Christ Lutheran, there is a new procedure for locking the doors at 6:00 p.m. for security purposes. A sign will be hung on the door at each meeting with a phone number to call/text for anyone arriving late and needing to be admitted.
A special thanks to Betty W. for taking the notes from the meeting for me in my absence.
The meeting adjourned after the program
