Quilting Adventure

Hello Modern Quilters,

On Sunday I was lucky enough to to attend a meeting of the Crystal Lake Modern Quilt Guild, as well as a lecture and workshop by Heather Givans. Heather owns Crimson Tate, a modern fabric store in Indianapolis, and is a fabric designer for W1ndham Fabrics.

One fun part of their meeting was the Modern Mystery Medallion third month check in. Here are some pics of of their fabulous works in progress.

The lecture was a wonderful combination of humor and information. Heather shared her journey from art teacher to fabric store owner and fabric designer. The quilts she showed featured her fabric lines Succulents and Paper Obsessed. Her right hand man David Barnhouse shared a beautiful quilt he made as well.

And finally the workshop! Heather is a great teacher and the time was well planned and fun! David gave me such good advice on choosing my fabric. CLMQG’s quilters were friendly and generous. It was a fantastic day!

Would you like to blog about a great modern quilting experience? We’d love to hear about it! Just let me know at a meeting or email  me.
