June meeting reminder

Hello Modern Quilters,
Want more ideas on how to use your block lotto winnings or BOMs? Are you ready to explore modern layouts with your quilting friends?
This month Kathy Cook will be giving a program about alternate gridwork. After a short lecture we’ll be working in groups to design “paper quilts” with modern elements. Bring a pair of paper scissors and get ready for a fun night! Join us at 6pm on Tuesday, June 28 at Christ Lutheran Church 311 Hershey Road in Normal.
Orlando

Hello Modern Quilters,
The Orlando Modern Quilt Guild has put out a call for heart blocks and quilts to comfort survivors of the the Orlando shootings. The blocks are like those we used for for the baby quilts. They are asking for bright modern fabric for the hearts and a low volume background, finished at 10 inches. Blocks will be made into rainbow quilts. The tutorial is here and is by Cluck Cluck Sew.
If you can help, bring your blocks to the June meeting and we’ll mail them to the OMQG. Hopefully we’ll have enough to make our own quilt to send.
Read more about OMQG’s effort on their blog here.
Please Email me with any questions and help if you can.
