We looked at the new MQG resource page and members were encouraged to look at webinars, block and quilt patterns, and articles. All are free to members. Another great resource is Angela Walter’s show Midnight Quilting which can be found on youtube or her web page. And coming soon….Fresh Quilting, an MQG quilting show that will be available to members soon.
Librarian Report Carole Benson reports that the books have not arrived yet, but once they do members can check out books for $1 per month. There will be a wait list set up for popular books and a binder of the books available for check out will be maintained
Is it time to destash your sewing room? We will be collecting fabric, tools, books, etc. for a big garage sale type fundraiser for our HeartBeat Quilts at the April meeting. You can bring your donations to the February, March or April meeting. Lori Levar and Sue Kaiser are in charge of this effort. If you’d like to help, see them at the February meeting.
Would you like to be a Queen of Hearts at our February meeting? We’re having a contest and here’s how you can win! Make a heart block and you’ll be in a drawing to be Queen of Hearts! Or, make the most hearts and be the Queen of Many Hearts! Or, make a beautiful, creative heart, win the viewers choice and be the Queen of all our Hearts! All the blocks will be used in our HeartBeat quilts.
Check out the HeartBeat page for a link to a pattern or use any pattern you like! Please use only bright solids.
An email has been sent with all the info for our first workshop of the year. Lori Levar will be teaching the Sew Together Bag on Saturday, March 4 from 9-3 pm. Deadline for sign up is February 14.
