August meeting recap

Submitted by Carol B., Secretary

Vice President Maria C. began the meeting at 6:00 pm. She began the meeting by ringing a bell. She
continued by discussing the significance of a bell: signifying a beginning or closing, major event, warning. She related all to our meetings.

Then she called up our 10-year members: Theresa A., Julie D. and Karen G., giving each her 10-year pin. Next, she recognized the retiring board and giving each a small gift in a bag. Following the board, she recognized the committee chairs and provided a small gift to each of them.

Nicole spoke briefly about planning of sew days for next year and thanked members who completed
heartbeat quilts.

Noemi mentioned that Molly will be the new librarian.

Nancy spoke briefly about the retreat and a reception/display March 7 at Bloomington Public Library.

Leslie thanked team members and mentioned a upcoming workshop.

Kathy thanked Maria for her service and announced that she and Nicole plan to set up a new member meeting and that MQG is soliciting quilts to sell. They will be auctioned online and those that do not sell will be returned.

Maria rang a cowbell and said that it was time for the potluck to be eaten and enjoyed.
