Laurie S. welcomed the group and announced that the ballots for the coming year were available. Stormy H. asked if anyone wanted to add candidates from the floor. No new candidates were added. The vote took place and the election committee retreated to count the votes. The results were read later in the meeting and reported as below:

Leslie S. introduced the speaker: Cheryl Sleboda, who spoke about strategies for making 3-D pattern in a quilt. The title of her talk was: The Art of Manipulating Fabric. Among the strategies, Cheryl spoke about and showed examples of smocking, gathering, pleating, box pleat, and Mexican pleats.











Then a 15 minute break followed.
Laurie S. gave the treasurer’s report: Checking: $5,977.56; Savings: $28,705.08; PayPal: $739.94 making the total $35,422.58.
Fabric Raffle winner was Mary R.; Survey winner was Noemi B.
The quilt raffle ticket was drawn with the winner Noemi Bower. She also won a small gift basket for selling the winning ticket.
The August meeting will be a potluck using the following schedule for dishes by last name:
A-B: Pasta Salad C-E: Appetizers F-K: Veggies L-G: Fruit
R-S: Dessert T-Z: Breads
The Guild needs a new chairperson for snacks sign-up. Chairpersons for some other committees are also needed.
Pam T. spoke briefly about contests and competitions in September through November. These will appear in the newsletter.
Noemi B. spoke about the retreat October 10-13, 2025. Cost is $150 and 3 dinners will be provided, as well as swag bags and mini-classes. Noemi reported there are still openings and encouraged members to join in on the fun.
Nancy P. shared information about QuiltCon. Registration fees have changes. Individuals who spend at least $50 during registration on their first log in will get a 4 Day admissions pass free. Registration begins August 20th. MQG Makers has a link in the newsletter and our members can join for a year
Leslie S. went over the schedule for the fall: Wonderfil on Zoom in September; our own Pam T. on strategies in October; in November/December journey through quilting and Specialy threads by Wonderfil.
Pam T. announced that, for members only, Kona at Piece and Applique will cot $8 per yard.
For Show and Tell, we saw quilts from Laurel B., Leslie S., Sandra F., Martha A., Nancy P. and Kathy C.
