June meeting recap

Kelly C. welcomed the members and announced that there would be a sign-in sheet for the show and tell members. She then introduced Leslie S. who introduced the speaker, Vickie A.

Vickie A. shared many examples of fabric that she has dyed in a variety of ways and for varied results and colors and patterns. She used original fabrics and plain ones, with results of new colors, recycling old fabrics, recoloring ugly fabrics, creative designs and techniques. She invited members to sign up for her workshops to be help at her home the following weekend.

The membership then enjoyed a break with snacks from Marilyn B., Sally H., and Stormy H.

Officer reports included the treasurer’s report by Laurie S. indicating that the Stash Sale earned $501 and the checking and savings balances are available in the treasurers report.

Carol F. reported attendance of 55 present, 9 on Zoom and 1 guest.

Pat T. shared upcoming deadlines for submitting quilts for competitions and shows: Great Wisconsin Quilt Show; Quiltcom; AQS shows. More information can be found in the newsletter.

Leslie S reminded the group that July speaker will be Cheryl Sleboda in person and August will be our annual potluck.

Nicole M spoke about the Heartbeat Quilt Kits.

Marilyn B. announced the sew day July 19 and reminded members to sign up on Sign-up Genius.

We need a volunteer to handle the hospitality committee.

Noemi B. announced that the library committee and 14 new books with donations from Laurie B., Noemi B. and Quiltfolk Magazine.

Stormy H. and her committee announced the candidates for the July election:

Secretary: Ann U. At large: Nicole M. and Kathy C.

If anyone is interested in a position, she should contact Stormy H before the next meeting.

The winners of the raffles were: Connie B. Fabric and Cheryl A. survey.
